Guillermo Habacuc Vargas - Profession: Dog Killer

In 2007, Guillermo Habacuc Vargas, an “artist”, tied a poor dog to short leash and let it starve to death. He says he did this in the name of art, but our humble brains cannot begin to even conceive the understanding, neither of his statement, nor of his action.

This man is not an artist. He is sick and he needs medical psychiatric attention immediately!

  1. Unbelievable !
He should be treated like the dog was.
At least locked up for a very long time.

  2. Any word on whether his second exhibition will go ahead?

  3. We still haven’t heard anything, but we heard that the citie’s mayor is actually alright with letting him do a second one.

  4. I’m sure we all agree on the fact that this guy should be tied up in the corner of a gallery and left to starve and die.

What i’d like to know is what about the animal cruelty in Cyprus?

It seems that there is not even a tiny fraction of the government that bothers with this issue.

I’m sick and tired of reading blogs from English people living here discussing about how we treat our animals - and there is actually a petition going:

    http://www.thepetitionsite.com/6/animal-cruelty-in-cyprus

So here we all are, sigining petitions about Guillermo, and animals in China & Korea etc but what about our situation? Can something be done?

And i don’t mean signing a petition which nobody will ever bother with, saving a stranded cat or dog or taking it to the shelter. I’m sure everyone in this forum has saved an animal but still there are 100’s and 1000’s out there which will not be so lucky.

At the end of the day, some LAW on this bloody island has to exist that will punish those who mistreat animals.

  5. While I don’t believe it to be right for police to stand by, or for the incident with this monsters friend to be video taped, I do believe that this person brought on his own fate. His addiction issues aside PRIVATE PROPERTY…TRESPASSING…PROPERTY PROTECTED BY VERY LARGE ANIMALS…HELLO, HE SHOULDN’T HAVE BEEN THERE. If he managed to get himself in to a state of mind that “allowed” him to make such a stupid mistake, then he got what was coming to him. In regards to the idea that the “art” was to represent that incident I say “Habacuc” is still in the wrong…has he never heard ‘TWO WRONGS DON’T MAKE A RIGHT”…what a moron. Additionally, the fact that he is defending his work, AND won’t confirm whether or not the dog actually died….monster, and I would like to tie him to a wall in a junkyard. All I can say “Habacuc” is that I hope you read this, and I hope you know that what goes around comes around. jerk.

In regards to the idea of when will there be a law?? We have to stand up, together to make a difference. I have no idea who said it, but a favorite quote of mine is “be the change you want to see in the world.”….make it happen.
